Teaching

I teach across political science, global studies, and Latin American studies, with an emphasis on rigor, critical thinking, and inclusive learning. I aim to build students’ analytical and professional skills while preparing them to be informed, reflective citizens who engage thoughtfully with the world and their communities.

In 2024, I received the Faculty Teaching Award from the Consortium of Latin American Studies Programs (CLASP).

I teach undergraduate and graduate courses in a range of formats—from large lectures to small seminars, independent studies, and thesis advising—across in-person, online, and hybrid settings. My teaching focuses on international relations, comparative politics, and Latin America, including courses on political development, drug politics, social movements, security, peace and conflict, and U.S.–Latin American relations.
